Ripples' award-winning network

As Ripples celebrate their 25th anniversary, franchisees came together at the historic Assembly Rooms in Bath for a prestigious awards ceremony. Up for grabs at the ceremony were four awards; Design of the Year, Highest Sales of the Year (Individual and Showroom) and the coveted Franchisee of the Year award.

Attended by over 100 members of the Ripples franchise family, including franchisees and their employees and the head office team, the awards recognised the dedication and resounding success of individual franchise owners and whole showroom teams.

Unsurprisingly for the luxury brand that is Ripples, guests were treated to an indulgent evening of music, champagne and fine dining under the chandeliers of the Assembly Rooms’ famous Octagon room.

Ripples is the premier bathroom franchise, designing and supplying high-end bespoke bathrooms for both residential and commercial clients. Ripples pride themselves on the quality of their products and their exceptional customer service. Franchisees operate their own beautifully-appointed showrooms in the luxury retail market. There are currently 15 franchised showrooms in the UK and the network boasts over 50 industry awards to date.

Design of the Year was awarded to Laura Shelby of the Bristol showroom who fought off fierce competition to emerge victorious with her luxury bathroom, designed to meet a restrictive and complicated brief. Highest Individual Sales of the Year was awarded to Melinda Hill of Ripples Chelsea and Richmond who smashed her own previously held record with sales of over £600k in just 11 months. Melinda’s outstanding achievement and decade of service was honoured with a standing ovation as she tearfully collected her award.

“I’m thrilled and a little shocked to have received this award. It’s such a wonderful feeling to be recognised amongst your friends and peers. The competition was definitely tough; all the showrooms are working hard to smash targets…and succeeding!” explained Melinda. Chris O’Halloran, franchisee for Chelmsford and Colchester rounded off an exceptional year by scooping both Franchisee of the Year and Highest Showroom Sales of the Year awards. An outstanding 2013 saw Chris expand his business with the opening of a second showroom, named as a finalist in the national Business Startup Awards and increase sales by over 40%.

“This really has been an amazing year for me and my team. The opening a second showroom had always been in my plan but to be able to do it so soon after buying my franchise is something I’m very proud of. It just goes to show that hard work and dedication to your business really does pay off. This award will sit in pride of place in my showroom to remind us all to continue to aim high,” says Chris.

Franchisees operate in a market predicted to be worth nearly £1 billion by 2016, making now an ideal time to invest with Ripples. Chris’ new showroom is expected to turnover £500k by year two and, with ten luxury bathroom settings, his new showroom will enable him to increase his sales to £1.5 million within his territory.

Ripples hands-on training and launch programme is designed to give new franchisees the experience and confidence to run and manage their own busy showrooms. Training is carried out by Ripples own expert team, as well as approved suppliers. Once trading, a member of the support team visits new showrooms weekly for two months to ensure franchisees are laying the foundations for success and the national PR and marketing campaigns help to drive clients through the door.

“All franchisees were set the challenge of improving results in all areas of their business in a drive to further elevate the Ripples brand as the premium bathroom franchise. Each and every one of our franchisees has embraced this ethos and the results of the last year speak for themselves. Those franchisees and their teams presented with awards today really have gone above and beyond, increasing sales, productivity and supporting their fellow franchisees.
