Marketing Mice Mean Big Business for Jonny
Leicestershire businessman Jonny Masters has scooped a top award for an innovative marketing initiative which he believes helped double his monthly sales figures.
Jonny, who owns Recognition Express Leicester West, a specialist supplier of corporate recognition products, clothing and business gifts, came up with the idea to personalise a batch of cordless, liquid-filled computer mice to send to his top 50 customers.
He planned the project so that the custom-made mice arrived on the marketing managers’ desks at the start of the new financial year – and ever since then, business has boomed!
“I came up with the idea of putting my customers’ names into the mice as a demonstration of a funky, innovative technique that we could apply to all aspects of their business,” explained Jonny, whose business is based in Parsons Lane, Hinckley. “In the months that followed, my turnover steadily increased and in some cases doubled, and I’m sure that being pro-active and inventive really paid off and helped improve my business.”
Jonny received the award for Best Marketing Idea at the recent Recognition Express bi-annual conference, which celebrated 30 years in business and recognised the achievements of the UK’s best performing franchises.
“Jonny has demonstrated that a simple yet effective product can work incredibly well,” commented Nigel Toplis, managing director of Recognition Express. “Our congratulations go to him and his team for developing the idea and planning the project so imaginatively.”
