Before joining LighterLife, Sarah had worked in marketing and sales for almost 20 years. Working in London, New York and Amsterdam for companies that ranged from a “Global 500” multinationals, to small start-ups, it had been a fast-paced, challenging but financially rewarding career. However, despite being successful, Sarah felt there were several elements missing from her professional life. It was then that she chose to join LighterLife as she believed the career they offered as a counsellor and franchisee would provide her with those missing elements. “I was Impressed not only with the companies mission statement but also their professionalism” says Sarah. “From the initial presentations through training and ongoing franchisee support, LighterLife was an extremely well-run company, employing people who are passionate about what they do and driven to deliver their best”.
With her strong background in sales and marketing Sarah new what it took to make run a successful business and had a clear vision of what she wanted tot achieved “My initial vision for my LighterLife franchise was to build a successful small business from which I would earn a similar salary to that which I made in my previous career”. Sarah continued “At the same time having a more flexible work schedule, so that I could improve my quality and life and specifically, spend more time with my three children and husband”.
Having this vision in mind Sarah put her skills to use and after 2 ½ years of trading, achieved sales of over £250,000. By their 5 year anniversary, Sarah aims to increase that figure by a further 25%. Even with all this financial success, for Sarah the real reward is in the work that she does with her clients. “It is not the sales themselves that are my markers of success but rather the positive impact on people’s lives that those figures represent” exclaims Sarah. “My belief is that building a client base of individuals who have experienced a high level of professional, consistent, respectful service is the most important factor in achieving long-term success”.

Throughout her time as a LighterLife Weight Management Counsellor Sarah has had no regrets. She works hard everyday to achieve her goals of running a highly successful business whilst gaining the satisfaction she had missed in her previous career. “I definitely don’t work less than I did when I was in a corporate life but I do work smarter.” Sarah continues “However, running a LighterLife franchise is more tiring, as I care so much about what I’m doing now and I can’t resist putting 110% into it. But, as a result, it’s also 1000 times more satisfying!” Sarah continues “Being a LighterLife Counsellor is a brilliant job. It has given me a good income and a really lovely quality of life that I really appreciate. Most importantly, it gives me a sense of actually making a difference.”
