Signs Express (Twickenham) sponsors The Richmond Borough Schools’ Celebration of Achievement awards.
The event which was held at the Twickenham Rugby Stadium recognises the success of high-achieving pupils at primary, secondary and special schools found across the borough. Some 80 pupils were put forward for the awards as recognition for their outstanding contribution across a range of areas such as sport, academic success and school life.
Signs Express (Twickenham) sponsored the event for the third year running to show support to the local schools in their region. The sponsorship included a contribution to the prizes awarded to the winning students. Jay Patel, centre owner at Signs Express (Twickenham) commented: “We try to support our local community as much as we can. The annual awards is a great way to help build the confidence of the pupils especially when some of the children have had to deal with personal difficulties and ill health. It gives them a chance to feel appreciated for their efforts and encourages them for the future.”
The winners include outstanding achievers’ awards such as, sports ambassador of the year which was won by a secondary pupil; an academic and social progress award; and also a Romanian student who was awarded for determination whilst faced with language barriers. The Twickenham-based signage maker helped provide certificates and vouchers for the winners.
