The event and conference theatre is sponsored by Barclays Bank and presents the perfect opportunity for anybody in business, or those wanting to set up an enterprise, to find out all they need to know to take the next crucial leap forward through the guidance of inspiring expert advice.

 

Visitors to the event will benefit from the free conference where they can gain valuable insights from successful business experts who will share the secrets behind their achievements. The seminar programme of outstanding speakers will provide solutions to the key issues that entrepreneurs face as they build their businesses.

 

The opening keynote address will be presented by successful e-commerce entrepreneur, Hugo Burge, Head of International and Vice Chairman of Cheapflights.co.uk, the leading travel price comparison website, and entitled:  ‘Successful entrepreneur, successful business!’ With an entrepreneurial background in property investment and consultancy, Hugo joined Cheapflights.co.uk in March 2000. By May of 2003 he had set up the company’s Boston office and launched the USA website www.cheapflights.com.  In 2008 Hugo won the British Travel Industry Hall of Fame Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Hugo is also founder of HOWZAT media, hereorthere.com and is also the director of zoomf.com.  In his presentation at the conference Hugo will discuss the traits, attitudes and abilities that make a successful business leader, top tips to maintain motivation and drive for success and where to find support for growing businesses and entrepreneurs.

 

On Saturday 4 October, the keynote speaker is Simon Morris, Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of LOVEFiLM International, Europe’s largest online DVD rental subscription service.  He will present a seminar titled:  ‘Lessons of a Successful Entrepreneur’ where he will discuss the risks of entrepreneurship, overcoming obstacles and how to maintain productivity.  Simon has led a rich career in senior marketing communications roles representing a number of leading UK brands.  Starting off at advertising agency Lintas Worldwide, Simon worked on Unilever, Boddingtons, Japan Airlines and Virgin.  He thereafter became marketing director of SEGA UK in the early 1990s before becoming consumer marketing director for BSkyB.  Simon has been involved with LOVEFilLM driving their marketing since its launch in early 2004.

 

Other speakers include William Montgomery, CEO of TEN, a performance improvement company, who will present a seminar entitled: ‘Leadership: Taking Charge of Business’, while Nigel Temple, founder of SME marketing services company The Marketing Compass will present a session called: ‘How to get Customers to Come to you’.

 

Networking extraordinaire Mike Segall of The Business Resources Group, will present a seminar entitled: ‘Networking - Connecting Business People’ while Geoff Ramm, marketing expert and raconteur will discuss exceptional customer service that retains customers.  Neil Stickells, Head of SEO at Steak, a digital marketing agency will discuss successful search engine optimisation and how businesses can improve their natural search listings.

 

The conference will further feature Richard White, Business Development Director for business development consultancy, Pro Excellence, who will present a seminar titled: ‘Taking Charge of Your Sales Pipeline’. Benjamin Fountain, Managing Director of Theselect.co.uk, one of the UK’s leading business support services company, will explain how to develop an online business with minimal risk. 

 

Other speakers Chantal Cooke, Director of digital radio station PassionForThePlanet.com who will discuss the benefits of PR for promoting a business, and Robert Snaith, Director of Central Enterprise Solution, speaking about efficient cash flow management.

 

Business Skills Zone and Advisory Table

 

A series of workshops, masterclasses, advisory tables and networking sessions will be taking place in the Growing Your Own Business Skills Zone, designed to offer a wealth of information for entrepreneurs.  Visitors will be able to listen to insightful speakers such as Simon Towndrow, Operations Director of Minute Steak  who will be discussing how a well managed pay-per-click campaign can made a difference to any business’s bottom line.

 

Visitors be able to seek guidance on any issues they are currently facing at the Advisory Table. They will also have the opportunity to consult a panel of business owners and a qualified expert to see how they can collectively advise them through the issue and assist in finding the way forward.
