PUPILS at Madley Brook C.P Primary School in Witney have been relishing their science lessons recently thanks to ComputerXplorers Cotswolds who have been teaching the children interactive ICT and technology.
Peter Stringer, KS2 Leader said: “The children have been learning about data logging and 3D Modelling, two particular areas of the ICT curriculum we have to cover. ComputerXplorers gave us some great ideas about how to combine the children’s science learning with their ICT curriculum. They love the activities and have been so motivated and absorbed in class. We have seen their grasp of science really progress since ComputerXplorers started running the classes.”

Andrew Petty, ComputerXplorers Cotswolds said: “We have been teaching Year 3 & 4 children how to use data logging equipment to measure light, sound and temperature, record the results of their experiments, draw conclusions and create graphs. We have also written a bespoke curriculum for the school that their teachers will be able to use for many years to come. For children in Years 5 & 6 we have been using a 3D modelling tool, to link in with the school’s theme of Space. The children are so involved and enthusiastic by what they are doing.”
ComputerXplorers are experts in children’s ICT education and run unique classes that are fun and inspirational, designed to enhance the learning skills of children of different ages and abilities. As well as running classes that fit in with the school’s curriculum, ComputerXplorers also provide PPA cover, workshops, theme days and work with Primary and Secondary Schools.
ComputerXplorers are exhibiting at the Oxfordshire Heads Conference on 23-25 March to talk to schools about how they can help deliver their ICT curriculum and other areas of the national curriculum. ComputerXplorers Cotswolds have invested heavily in software and hardware, and provide everything from tailored lesson plans and equipment to Enhanced CRB checked teachers. All schools need to provide are the children and the computers.
