When local Solihull children’s nursery photographer, Andy Pearce, set up his business over 19 years ago, the last thing on his mind was franchising.
However, as the ABC Photography business grew, and enquiries started coming in from near and far, it became obvious that is was not viable to travel huge distances to satisfy his clients so his thoughts turned to ways of expanding the operation.
“Franchising was a possibility” said Andy, “but although the business was a success for me I couldn’t be sure it would work for others!”
Andy set about getting more information and 9 years ago put on his first and “pilot” franchisee – now another very successful business. It proved the formula works!
“Many photographers have tried to build their business with children’s nurseries, but have failed” said Andy, “there is a recipe for success but it has taken me many years of trial & error to get to the right formula.”
Andy called on local franchise consultant, Richard Jackson, to help create the package that could take the business forward and begin the recruiting campaign. “We have structured the franchise, initially, to focus on the first three Franchisees only. We need to teach them the business thoroughly and in each one of them, help create another success story” said Richard. “Andy has a great formula that can be taught to those who are looking to build a profitable business in photography with an already proven structure. However, ABC is also looking for the right people, as reputation is everything and the franchise can only go from strength to strength with serious and like minded individuals.”
“Our first franchisee, Andrew Butterworth, from Cheshire, is now on board and building nicely” said Andy, “and we are currently interviewing others to establish the first three success stories. When they are up and running profitably, we will then start expanding throughout the UK.”
