Lighting project cuts costs dramatically

Energy costs are constantly changing and environmental concerns regarding global warming are putting economic and political pressure on commercial businesses. With this in mind Mr. Electric launched its international ‘Conserve’ campaign to help reduce the environmental impact of customer operations and to reflect the companies concerns with environmental issues.
BUZZARDS VALLEY LIGHTING PROJECT
One of the easiest solutions for commercial businesses to make dramatic energy savings is through the replacement of inefficient lighting. Mr. Electric has come across many businesses that are incurring huge costs due to high energy consumption. The solution is really simple - install energy saving lighting throughout the commercial building using a Carbon Trust interest FREE loan.
Mr. Electric recently completed a lighting project for Buzzards Valley in Tamworth, which is a large wholesale premises offering product supplies for florists, gift shops & interior designers.
To fund the project which cost £17,900, a Carbon Trust interest FREE loan was used. The Carbon Trust offer loans of between £3,000 and £500,000 for any project, which reduces the Carbon footprint of certain commercial organisations.
FANTASTIC RESULTS
The figures for this project are staggering and truly highlight the relevance of the installation for numerous commercial organisations. Here are some of the important figures from the project:
- 245 dichroic lamps were replaced with LED dimmable lamps. The previous annual KW use was 40131KW. The new LED Lamps will only use 5618KW.
- The total KW usage per annum was 89065KW. The total KW usage per annum will now be 32610KW.
- Over 4 years Buzzards Valley will save £23485.28, which enables the repayment of the Carbon Trust Loan over a four year period.
- When the Carbon Trust Loan has been repaid, after four years Buzzards Valley will save £5871.32 per annum.
- The lamps for the project were sourced from Sure Supplies.

Leon continues; “The lights last around 20 times longer, which means less maintenance costs and less unsightly lights not working.”
