Residents in Southern England seem to be ignoring the current economic squeeze! Although Plantation Shutters are the fastest growing niche of the window coverings industry, everyone has been surprised at the 30% increase in sales Just Shutters recorded for January 2011. It appears that homes and businesses across the South are choosing to swap their worn curtains and tired blinds to invest in Plantation Shutters!
Established in Bournemouth in 2005 Just Shutters posted their highest monthly sales ever in January, a 30% increase on the same period last year. The business is currently expanding to cover more of the South by attracting people to invest in opening their own local Just Shutters franchise in their area.
Ian Beasleigh invested in the Just Shutters Reading and Thames Valley territory in December and commenced trading in January. He got off to a flying start with four orders in his first few weeks, and another last week. January 2011 may not seem like the best time to start a small business, but with a proven system to follow Ian has proved that anything is possible!
Ian’s background is in accounting and finance within the automotive industry. Before starting up his local Just Shutters business Ian was the General Manger of a multi-dealership for Jaguar, Aston Martin, Land Rover, and Lamborghini.
Ian commented, “I wanted a complete change from the automotive sector. I was looking for a proven business with an excellent reputation and strong brand. I am delighted by my first month and hope this trend continues and I can meet the projected first year turnover!”
Considering that many businesses both large and small are struggling as the UK government attempts to get to grips with its huge debt mountain, it is heartening to hear of a local businessman who is brave enough to start a new business at this difficult time, but even better to hear that he has had a cracking start.
