Leisure Franchise Treasure Trails Ltd has taken on two new franchisees to launch the business in York and Humber. In the past two years demand for the innovative Treasure Trails’ product has meant that the company now has operations in 24 counties all over the UK. Regional franchisees are recruited to write and sell the permanent themed Trails and there are now nearly 400 in total.
The business was founded in 2005 by Steve Ridd MBE with the aim to get people out and about, exploring the county in a fun and interesting way on a Treasure Hunt, Murder Mystery and Spy Mission themed walk. Answers to clues are located on existing monuments and buildings and thousands of people are becoming hooked on this unusual and innovative idea. Gary Lineker is just one of the growing host of fans, having had lots of fun with his fiancée Danielle on a Treasure Trail around Armagh last year.
Steve says, ‘I started Treasure Trails because I wanted to create a way for locals and tourists to learn about and enjoy the many beautiful and fascinating places in the UK. As the business has grown, we have recruited many fantastic franchisees who love their own regions and who can create fun and imaginative Trails which really show off what the area has to offer.’
Local couple, Chris Gowland and Tamsyn Quormby are the York and Humber franchisees and are looking forward to running their own business together. They said ‘We both love being outside in the fresh air and have really enjoyed all the fun treasure hunt Treasure Trails we have done with our family. When we saw the opportunity advertised, we jumped at the chance to own a franchise and now can’t wait to write Trails around our stunning county to help more people explore is hidden gems.’
Treasure Trails are available online and in some retailers and the business is still looking for franchisees in several areas of the UK, including Yorkshire.
