After fifteen years of franchising a pet food home delivery service and being finalists in the bfa franchisor of the year, Oscar had more than just the message of teamwork to celebrate at its 2008 Annual Conference.
Oscar has a strong network of over 90 franchisees from around the UK, each coming from a different background and bringing different experience but all with one thing in common – Oscar and pet nutrition. Opportunities to gather under one roof are few and far between and putting a face to a name is one thing but to gain total individual communication in one day is not easy.
With many exciting opportunities ahead, Oscar is always on the move with incentives and new products to help its franchisees remain up front with their customers - pet customers who instinctively teach us how to bond and socialise. Interaction helps to establish compatibility thus giving Oscar the opportunity to introduce these key elements into the Conference.
The network was prepared for an afternoon of discussion and debate but the management team had a better idea. The formalities and presentations were brief and after the initial shock of what appeared to be organised chaos, franchisees were divided into teams and put to the test. Points win prizes, convert that to business and realise that teamwork and interaction generate success.
Animals naturally bring people together and the Oscar franchise is there to enhance that opportunity. The Oscar 2008 Conference created a positive energy that encouraged franchisees to play the game, get involved and have great fun - eventually to appreciate just how easy it is to communicate a good business. For once ‘seeing red’ took on a new meaning. A host of red shirts all aiming to achieve the same goals is about to put Oscar right at the top of its profession…
