History
As a single mum, working full time for a “cash for gold” business Diane Howe spent her time juggling a busy career through the day whilst her free time was spent committed to her familyʼs various evening and weekend activities. A hectic lifestyle was crying out for more flexibility!
A chance meeting with an investor, Andy Cheetham led to Diane securing backing to launch her own company and in December 2010 she left her job and launched the Reach Out Organisation to help raise funds for two specific charities, Help for Heroes and also Wish Upon a Star who grant terminally ill children a special wish.
The first outlets received their stock in February 2011 and within one month Reach Out was supplying 200 outlets in and around Derby and the first donations were made one month later. Reach Out is growing every day through the support of offices and workplaces and the general public and the company has chosen franchising to expand its coverage around the UK.
By owning a Reach Out franchise you can escape the rat race by owning your own exclusive area and having a great work/life mix on a full or part time basis working from the comfort of your own home. Your own profits are yours to keep since the donations are made by Head Office each time you acquire more stock. Training and Support
Every new franchisee is professionally trained by our own staff both face to face in your own area, on the phone, through email and via video conferencing. The simplicity of the Reach Out business model means that most people will be proficient and competent within a matter of a few weeks and you will also have your first customers set up and earning you money straight away. Every franchise owner benefits from a concise Operational Manual which details our business and exactly how we do it.
On an ongoing basis the company can provide face to face training as required in various locations around the UK and also provide a telemarketing service to support your own efforts in securing new outlets. Through our relationship with the charities that we support Reach Out also arranges visits to our charities where you can see first hand the valuable work that we are raising funds for and the personalities involved.
Within your franchise package you will also receive professional business cards, leaflets and above all else the know how of how to create a rewarding business for yourself working with us and the charities involved.
Financial Information
When you buy a Reach Out franchise you immediately benefit from Reach Outʼs Franchisee Launch Campaign designed to blitz your area and secure your first 50 outlets in Week 1 as a guaranteed minimum. You can also choose to expand your starting customer base, and gain anything up to 200 outlets at the outset for a small additional cost. You donʼt need to be a professional salesperson either because we simply ask businesses for their support to help us raise much needed funds and our display box fits in a very small space.
Once you are ready to start collecting your earning potential depends specifically on how many outlets you have and the average sale of each outlet. A very small outlet like a beauty salon can sell 20 bags per month where as a large employer can sell hundreds of bags per month. However once you are collecting every day and even on a low average sale, your Reach Out franchise should be able to generate an income of around £30,000 p.a. However, if you scale the business up my employing staff alongside you, the business can generate a lot more. Either way a Reach Out franchise provides a low cost, flexible investment for any entrepreneur starting at only £5000 plus vat!
Are you for us?
We're looking for franchisees who want to work from a home base and who have the ability to get on with people from all walks of life. A pleasant personality is a "must" as is the determination to put sufficient time into the business to grow it - we can teach you everything else!
Since this is an "out and about" business you'll also be working in and around your locality so you'll need your own transport.
Territories/LocationsWe currently operate in parts of Derby, Staffordshire, Gloucestershire and Yorkshire and franchisees joining us in these regions will inherit a large customer base on day 1. Throughout the rest of the UK and Ireland we are looking for franchisees to join us where we will establish the first new clients and then work with the franchise owner to expand the business.
How your franchise works
Reach Out has competition in the fundraising sector but has chosen to differentiate itself in several ways. Firstly unlike most other companies Reach Out only supplies very high quality confectionery which means they benefit from repeat purchases, secondly the brand is professionally designed and marketed as their own brand rather than a charities brand which the public identify with. Reach Out has also pledged to donate 100% of itʼs profits in 2011 and has ensured that the charities that are supported have very high public support.
When you own a Reach Out franchise your hours are flexible and you work close to home. We place a box of high quality sweets in various locations and call once or twice a month to collect the takings. There is an almost infinite number of locations that can sell our confectionery including offices, factories, showrooms, restaurants etc etc in fact any type of commercial or retail premises. You can also use the family car and you only need a small amount of space at home.
Itʼs friendly, good fun and you can vary the hours and the days you work without any problems because your sweets are selling even when you are not there so your franchise doesnʼt suffer when you go on holiday or you or your family are ill. You can also run the franchise purely by yourself or employ staff to manage the business for you so its very flexible and very scalable too.
