Lawnscience is a professional lawncare company operating mainly in the domestic market.
The lawncare market started in the U.S. where today over 25% of homes receive regular lawn treatments. In the UK market approximately 3% of homes benefit from this service, leaving a substantial market potential to develop.
If we take a catchment area of 100,000 homes a 1% market share should produce an annual turnover of £200,000, so it’s easy to see that there is a large untapped market within the UK.
Our Service
We provide our customers with a regular cycle of lawn treatments throughout the year, so there’s no “down time” over the winter period as in many garden service concepts. As well as treating lawns we update our customers as to issues that might affect the quality their lawns and we recommend treatments to prevent or overcome relevant issues.
The treatment programs we provide have been developed with Europe’s foremost supplier of lawn fertilisers and chemical treatments. The products we use create outstanding results and cannot be purchased from retail outlets.
Our customers appreciate the level of service we provide which in turn generates a substantial volume of new business referrals.
How do we get our customers?

Lawnscience has developed a series of marketing strategies with some of the UK’s foremost direct marketing professionals. Don’t worry if marketing is not your strong point we will train you thoroughly and guide you through each stage of your businesses development.
Training and Support
Quality training is the key to your success and we take it very seriously.
We limit the number of new franchisees each year to a maximum of six, in order that we can ensure that each one receives a carefully planned program, specific to their needs.
As part of our initial discussions we will discuss with you the areas of training and development appropriate to your current knowledge and future needs.
We then tailor an individual training plan which will consist of the following elements:
• Lawn assessment
• Treatment planning and quoting
• Fertiliser selection and application
• Weed control
• Chemical selection and application
• Pest, disease and insect prevention and eradication
• Moss control and eradication
• Aeration and scarification
• Seeding and over-seeding
• Lawn Renovations

Having completed your training you will ready to commence your business and throughout this vital stage we will be on hand 24/7 to make sure that any issues are resolved quickly in order that you can concentrate on rapidly building your business.
Financial Information
There are three areas of cost to consider when purchasing a Lawnscience Business:-

• Training Fee Cost £ 2,500
• Equipment Purchase Cost £ 6,700
Total £14,200
*depending on size of territory
In addition Lawnscience charges 10% of net revenue.

Customised territories available throughout the UK and Ireland
We currently have opportunities throughout most of the UK, but we do not have generic territories to license. We have a different approach than most franchisors to creating the optimum territory for your future business.

It could be a single van, multi-van or high volume business; the territory will vary depending upon this. Having understood your aims we can then create a bespoke territory for your new business.
