About Us
Monk Marketing has been in business for 10 years and have over 20 years exeprience in our marketplace. We offer Incentive Gifts & Promotional Merchandise to the corporate marketplace in an industry with an anuual turnover of £1 Billion.
Every year we bring out a new 164 page catalogue along with other specialist brochures giving our franchisees an excellent product to leave with clients or prospects. We also update our website on a regular basis and have spent a considerable amount of money developing it to where it is today with over 16,000 products to choose from. If you type in Corporate Gifts into Google we come out on page 1 which shows we are also investing in optimisation of our site.
Having our own person based in the Far East means we have a data base of over 70,000 products and we can provide bespoke products for a client that is looking for something different but at a very competitive price. It also means that we are very good at sourcing products or ideas for our clients.
We have a very good name in our industry and we have franchisees that have built up very successful business's by following our training and using their own talents in sales and marketing.
We like to work in partnership with our franchisees as this way their business grows as does ours and we all benefit from everyones input to improve not just our product range and innovation but our business model at the same time.
We give generous post code territories and are looking for people who have sales and management experience and a passion to do well in their business to join us as there are territories avaiable all over the UK.
Training and Support
Our Franchisees are supplied with everything they need to start their business including laptop, laser printer, fax/copier, mobile, printed stationery and a good supply of catalogues.
In addtion they are given numerous samples kits and support material including their operations manual, their own email and listing on our website plus post code data base software.
To begin with we give 3 days intensive induction training at head office including a factory tour.
This is followed by a territory visit 4 to 6 weeks later for 2 days which includes sales presentations and lead generation to help to build your client and prospect database.
We give full head office back up to answer any questions or problems plus marketing support by way of special offers and email flyers.
A further territory visit after another 6 weeks for 2 days to do further sales presentations to customers or prospects and further sales and marketing training.
We exhibit at 2 major trade exhibitions per year and encourage new franchisees to come and work on the stand with us as they get on stand sales training and can also pick up leads from their territory.
A further territory visit for 2 days follows this to help follow up leads and to close other leads that the franchisee has been woring on and develop new prospects with email marketing.
In January we invite our franchisees to join us for 1 or 2 days at the major Trade Suppliers Exhibition where we take them round to meet a number of our key suppliers to understand what they supply.
This is then followed by 2 days training at head office in February where suppliers will be spending their time in helping us to train our franchisees in new ways of selling their products.
Financial Information
The cost of our Franchise package is £19,995 plus vat (reclaimable) which is made up of our licence fee of £13,000 and set up costs for the first year of £6,995.
Our ongoing management fees are 6% of sales turnover net of vat with an agreed first year turnover figure.
We can introduce you to major high street banks who support our business model and are willing to lend 50% of the up front costs and first years cash flow requirements.
We will also introduce you to experienced franchise accountants to look after your accounts unless you have your own accountans to do this.
You are supplied with accounts software in your start up kit and these accountants will train you in how to use this.
Our franchise agreement is for 5 years renewable for a further 5 years.
Are you for us?
The type of person we are looking for must have sales experience and a passion to succeed in their business.
A willingness to learn and follow our training techniques and the ability to give positive input to develop both themselves and their business.
We will support you all the way but you must be able to show that you are capable of building a substantial business starting from home with a turnover figure of £150,000 to £200,000 in years 3 or 4. These figures have been achieved by some of our franchisees who have followed our training.
It would also help if you have some kind of management experience as you will be running your own business although in your first year we will help you all the way along.
Territories/Locations
There are numerous territories available all over the UK so contact us for details.
We give generous post code territories and this is based on the number of business in your chosen post code area which if we think is not enough we will give you 2 post code territories alongside each other which we will discuss and agree with you at a meeting.
If you are feeling ambitious and feel you would like to take on a much larger area such as Scotland or Wales then we can discuss this at a meeting as it will need further discussion.
We are negotiable with regards to territories so agian this is something that can be discussed at a meeting.
