YOUR OPPORTUNITY FOR SUCCESS
A franchise is a tried and tested way of investing in your future, as well as a sound and proven business model. The SugaCane brand is, without doubt, putting the fun, life and potential financial rewards into high street retailing.
SugaCane is based on a simple, yet well proven, retail model - a traditional sweet shop with a 21st century twist. Designed as a high street brand, SugaCane appeals to consumers across all age groups, and each store is designed so that every visitor will find something irresistible. The range of sweets within the SugaCane brand is manufactured exclusively for the SugaCane stores, and the on-going development of the product range brings old fashioned favourites back to life, as well as developing exciting new tastes to satisfy the confectionery dreams of all ages.
High street stores have been quick to identify the trend and “retro” sweets are being promoted in most chains. Market analysts say that the closure of Woolworths and with it the demise of “Pick’n’Mix” aisles has helped to drive this revival. It is the explosion of sweetness, however, from traditional pocket money purchases such as sherbet lemons, pineapple cubes and pear drops, that has captured the imagination of shoppers and retail buyers.
SugaCane stores also include the
largest range of “Pick ‘n’ Mix” imaginable!
According to a survey, by Nestle Rowntree, people in Britain consume in excess of £ 4.4bn of confectionery per year with a forecasted growth of 5% per year. Each person spent an average of £76 a year on sweets, equivalent to 1/2 lb a week. The survey also found that nearly half of the £580m worth of boxes of chocolates sold each year are bought in the 12 weeks before Christmas. (Source: Nestle Rowntree – Mintel)
With a strong domestic market that has displayed little signs of diminishing, SugaCane has focussed on what the consumer wants and devised a sound and tested way of delivering the goods.
MARKET ENTRY LEVEL
The key to obtaining a strong foothold in a high street retail market is location, location, location…. However, a SugaCane store can operate very successfully from a store with as little as 600 - 1200 sq ft, which has the potential for generating a weekly turnover of in excess of £6,000. With the majority of the product lines returning a very high gross profit, the store very quickly moves into a positive profit situation.
This is a business investment opportunity that has relatively low-level entry costs, in comparison with other high street franchises, easily manageable running costs and open ended rewards. Right from the outset we offer a tailored 5 year business plan that covers the essential building blocks of a successful business:

Every new franchisee will have a tried and tested roll-out programme tailored to suit the launch of the new store. This programme is essential to a successful launch as it will identify key trigger points that need to be achieved before the launch can be completed. Opening a new business venture can be nerve racking and stressful at the best of times, but with our support team and your roll-out programme in place, the stress levels are greatly reduced.
In order to give your business a flying start a
pre-launch marketing communication campaign is carried out in the weeks prior to launch, along with a PR and editorial campaign in the local press/radio. Our aim is to get your store open on time and within budget, and to give you the best possible foot-hold in your local market.
The future expansion of your business
depends very much on your individual ambitions. You may be happy running a successful store with a comfortable income, or you may wish to expand either the size of the business within your town, or to open more stores. With the help of the expertise provided by the SugaCane development team our franchisees will be able to take their businesses to a level which they wouldn't have been able to achieve one their own.
Within the SugaCane brand we have three additional add-ons to your business (depending on the size of the premises) The Oh So Cocoa range of hand-made chocolates fits neatly into the business model, as does the SugaShake shake bar with a range of amazing flavoured milk-shakes, and finally CoffeNerd is an exciting new take on a coffee shop with a twist.
The size and shape of your new business venture is limited only by your imagination and ambition.
