Combining top quality raw materials with state-of-the-art polymer technology, we offer a range of granite, quartz and glass surfaces that literally be fixed over existing worktops to provide an instant make-over, giving tired kitchens a new lease of life (we also supply doors to complete the look). They can also be fitted to new kitchens as a welcome alternative to laminates and other composite materials.

Lightweight, durable, flexible and versatile, Granite Transformations aren’t just limited to the kitchen either. They can be used for a whole host of purposes, including flooring, walls, shower enclosures, bathrooms, furniture and even exterior applications. The possibilities are endless.

Established in 1996, Granite Transformations has grown into a worldwide brand with operations in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, USA, Canada and the UK and annual sales in excess of £190m. Operating in the UK since 2003, we are now looking to expand our national network of 20 franchise owners and secure our position as one of the country’s foremost home improvement brands.

Our products are unique and offer many advantages over conventional surfaces, providing a top quality finish that won’t discolour, fade, stain, scratch or burn and looks that are guaranteed to last a lifetime. Practical and affordable, they appeal to a broad market and offer franchisees the opportunity to build their own thriving business.

Every installation is custom-made, manufactured off-site and professionally fitted. This not only minimises disruption and mess in the customer’s home, but also allows a much faster turnaround. On average, tops can be fitted in just one day.

Granite Transformations is no ordinary franchise and not for the faint-hearted. This is not a ready-made business you can simply buy off the shelf to turn a quick profit. It’s an opportunity to establish your own business and literally grow it from the ground up, building a reputation and creating your own customer base. You buy your own exclusive territory and are free to pursue sales within that area.

You don’t need any previous practical experience, as we will provide all of the training you need, but sales and management experience are desirable. Above all, you need enthusiasm and excellent people skills.

You will be fully hands-on and responsible for managing and controlling every aspect, from sales and marketing through to manufacture and installation. This is not one-man business. You will need to employ at least one other person and also manage your own team of installers.

Our UK franchisees currently achieve an average turnover of £600K pa. with some exceeding £100k per month. The UK domestic kitchen furniture market is estimated to be worth over £2bn pa* with more than £280m being spent on worktops alone – and it’s growing. In the last 12 months, our sales have increased by 15.5% as people invest more in their homes.

The 4 New Franchise Model

To accommodate Franchise Owners with different market experiences and investment budgets, Granite Transformations has developed various franchise packages to allow suitable business people to come on board and help grow the brand. These involve different setting-up costs, but all give access to the complete Granite Transformations’ product offering of worktops, finishing materials and replacement kitchen doors.

Showroom & Workshop Model

• The premium franchise model
• Involves operating both high street retail premises and a nearby fabrication workshop
• Owner responsible for local worktop manufacturing, in addition to sales, templating and installation.
• Investment in a factory unit and fabrication equipment, in addition to showroom and storage facilities, and recruiting staff to operate the workshop.
• Investment in suitable retail premises as a focal point for customer enquiries
• Option to add additional 'building blocks' (definition below) to increase territory potential

The manufacturing side (incorporating a workshop into the business model) opens up substantial extra revenue and a higher percentage profit potential, through ensuring more money from routine installations and opportunities for lucrative commercial fabrication jobs.

High Street Showroom Model

• Focuses on retail sales and home installations only
• No need to invest in factory premises as franchisor takes care of the manufacturing side
• Owner responsible for investing in high street showroom premises
• Start up costs significantly reduced
• Option to upgrade to the Showroom & Workshop Model at a later date
• Option to add additional 'building blocks' (definition below) to increase territory potential

Recognising that not all people have the right experience and skills to run the Showroom & Workshop Model from the start, and that others may wish to limit their setting up costs, this model removes the manufacturing element from the mix.

Concession Showroom Model

• High street showroom is exchanged for an in-store concession site in a garden centre or similar retail complex
• Start up and legal costs further reduced
• Owner responsible for investing in a purpose-made showroom display area and rented floorspace
• Initial investment reduced further as no high street presence required

Whilst there is no manufacturing element, it does entail local sales and marketing commitments, as well as measuring up and installation work.

Existing Retailer Model

• This package has been devised for existing kitchen and bathroom businesses and other retailers who feel that a Granite Transformations franchise would be compatible with their existing showroom operation
• Owner will need to allocate an agreed area of floorspace for a purpose-made showroom display promoting the brand
• May be a need to recruit additional sales staff and fitters
• Bespoke training programme for owner and stafftaking into account existing market experience, facilities and skill sets

If there are existing workshop facilities, then the franchise package could be extended to include a manufacturing element, otherwise worktop fabrication would be looked after centrally.
