Franchises to buy across the UK are rapidly expanding due to new technology's and the UK
public embracing working from home and for themselves. With literally
thousands to choose from we are recommending you look into many aspects
before jumping in head first.
A good start is to think about your own expertise, past experience and
interests. Obviously knowing a little about the industry you are about
to work in is a huge help and makes it far more likely you will make a
success of your new franchise. Once you have considered your options a
little the next step is to look into franchises available for you to buy into. Running through our categories to your left is a
good start, you may add several to your basket and quickly order free
information packs from each. If you do not want a telephone call from
each franchisor then make sure to select the do not call option.
Once you have received your franchise packs it is time to whittle them
down to a handful of interest. This should be a fairly straightforward
process of simply reading through the packs and deciding for yourself
which you are considering buying.
The next step is research:
Do some Google searches on each franchise. Look for testimonials and
complaints, research the companies history and background and ensure
that there are not too many, if any, bad reviews. do remember of course
that not every franchisee is a happy franchisee and a bad review may
not necessarily mean the franchise is not a good opportunity. Once you
feel satisfied that you have a good selection then contacting the
franchisor for a meeting or Q & A session is the next step. What
you want to do is get down to a short list of 2 or 3 to base your
decision on. Asking the rights questions is paramount and the
following are examples of what you need to ask for.
A list of current franchisees for you to phone and discuss how they are doing.
How long has the franchise been in business "franchising"
What the franchisee turnover is. i.e. How many franchises were
operating in the previous years and how many of them are still in
business.
There are many more questions you will want to ask but these 3 are
important as they will dig up any warning signals and ensure the
validity of the franchise business in questions.
