We have been playing around
with keyphrases to find out how well our website ranks in Google for
content posted on different website sections. The first post we made
used the phrases "how to franchise your business" and we managed to
gain position 8 in Google.co.uk for this phrase without any other SEO
work done. Position 8 is not bad and shows that Google trusts our
forum area where this was posted but now it is time to test our
marketplace area and see if we can get " How to franchise your
business " to a higher position than 8.
How to franchise your business is for us a term that will not bring
converting visitors in which make us money but does act as a good
franchise related keyphrase to run this test with. The 3 areas we are
going to post how to franchise your business style posts are the forum
(done, position 8) our Marketplace area and our franchise articles
section. What the test will do is show us which section ranks higher in
Google for How to franchise your business. (sorry about the ramble but
i need to fit that phrase in as much as i can)
Now - position 8 in Google is NOT going to give us much website
traffic, franchising is a fairly niche subject matter and as such
generates low website traffic levels. Really we need to be as position
1 or 2 to enure that we capture people searching for franchise related
phraes, and in this particular case, how to franchise your business
traffic. Being as position 8 will only bring us in maybe a few
visitors per month which when you need tens of thousands to run a
sucessfull website, just is not enough.
If we find that the phrase how to franchise your business goes higher
than 8 in Google when posted in our Marketplace area, which is where
you will be reading this drivel, then we know to utalise the
marketplace more for quality franchise related articles and drive more
traffic through our site. It could be however that our articles
section is the best place and gains us higher rankings so a few tests
spanning 4 weeks should show us which section to use.
So, lets mention again that this how to franchise your business post is
here purely for test reasons and I do apologise if you found this
article hen searching for information on how to franchise your
business. Although, if this is a subject you need information on you
