Pal4Pets is seeking to expand its franchisee network through the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The company which started in North London over 12 years ago has developed a very successful business that has proved to be recession resistant. It currently has six franchise territories in operation. Three provide pet care services to clients in Greater London and the other three cover: Bristol & North Somerset, Mid & West Sussex and South West Midlands & Worcester.
The company offers a range of services for dogs, cats and all domestic pets including birds.
“After carefully developing and perfecting the business model over the years, we see a lot of expansion opportunity and believe the time is right,” said Monica Loosely, Pals4Pets founder and Managing Director.
Based on data from the National Office of Statistics, pet care spending in the UK exceeded £4.5 billion last year and is expected to increase in the years to come. Particularly as according to the Pet Food Manufacturers Association Annual Report, almost 1 in 2 households in the UK own a pet, with a total 23 million pets owned excluding fish.
Franchisees pay an initial franchise fee of £11,950 plus VAT, 9 percent in royalties, 1 percent in shared marketing costs, which owners typically operate from their home. The territory sizes are quite large as they include: 200,000 ABC1 households.
Key areas for expansion across the United Kingdom include:
·Bedford/Milton Keynes
·Cambridge
·Cardiff/Newport
·Coventry
·Crewe/Stoke on Trent
·Edinburgh
·Glasgow
·Gloucester/Cheltenham
·Kingston/Epson/Leatherhead
·Leeds/Bradford
·Leicester
·Manchester

Key areas for expansion across Ireland include:

That said, any county where Pals4Pets does not currently have a franchisee would be considered.
"We offer a fantastic product with extensive training and support and so any franchisee following out model has the potential to develop a business with huge returns,” Loosley said. “People who get into this business love pets and are most often looking to make a major lifestyle change.”
