It's been a merry ole year for us here at The Franchise Shop - Having
worked very hard in the first 3 quarters (before losing internet access
for the last 3 months) we have tripled our website visitors and at long
last have started making a decent profit from our venture. If 2010 has
anything like the same growth then we should be able to comfortably say
we are the best franchise lead generation website here in the UK.
So, what were our best 2009 moments? Well....
1. Gaining the coveted #1 position in Google for the 2 most competitive phrases in our industry, "Franchise Opportunities" and "Franchises for Sale".
This was by no means an easy feat and we worked morning, afternoon and
night for months to achieve this but it was very well worth it.
2. Hitting over 1000 website visitors daily. This was achieved
around the same time as our improved search engine rankings positions,
along with the above 2 we gained top 5 positions for hundreds of
targeted franchise related phrases which is driving fantastic amounts
of visitors to our platform.
3. Hitting over 1500 website visitors daily. A combination of
good search engine ranking positions and the sheer amount of content
added to our website means that we have now gone from 500 daily website
visitors at the end of 2008 to 1500+ per day.
4. The launch of our new Free subscription rate. We do not want
just a few hundred franchises listed on our website but instead want
all 800+ in the UK to list with us and now there is no reason not too.
With a trial run on the free subscription option now completed we will
be fully opening up in January 2010 for all franchises in the UK to
place a full page listing with us at no cost to themselves. The
Internet is a fantastic medium and resource, it is also mainly based
around the FREE model with the option of upgrading to premium services,
this is the route we are taking and are excited to be the first to open
up like this.
5. New relationships made. I would like to give a big shout out
to Wendell from Matchpoint and Dug from Franchise Recruitment Services. Both of these great
guys have given me the motivation to work even harder and have given me
a lot of helpful advice. Cheers to you both and hope 2010 is a great
one for yourselves personally and your companies.
Now - It's the 1st day back at work tomorrow and there is a lot to do -
let's see if we can all start 2010 with a bang and forget about any
financial worries, wars, terrorism and nasty credit crunches and
recessions. 2009 was quite some year was it not? Happy times to come!
