In the UK we are facing the worst economic conditions since records began. The UK GPD is down .4% with the pound falling sharply against the dollar. The Government still using quantitative easing to stimulate the economy and drive it out of recession.
Unemployment figures still rising, with RBS considering more redundancies. So is this the correct time to enter the world of franchising?
According to the Natwest/bfa survey 2009, the UK franchise market is worth to be around £11.4bn with 90% of franchisees saying they are in profit. Current franchise owners are realistic when asked about the current economic conditions with 66% of franchisees believing the economic conditions will become more difficult in the next 12 months. However, franchisors are optimistic with 82% believing their business will improve or stay the same over the next 12 months.
