Low Cost Franchises

Posted by Matthew in Franchise on 22.04.2009 8:51:13 am | 471 views

20 years ago a franchise would have cost you an arm, a leg, and probably your house.  However things change and technology now means we can work from home without the need for expensive offices. Types of franchises have changed also and the widespread use of the Internet now presents us with a whole new range of online franchises.

A low cost franchise is generally anything under the 15k mark.  Still a lot of money but compared with the shop front £250k franchises they are well shy of the hundreds of thousands it can cost to buy into the likes of McDonalds or Burgerking.

If you are looking for lost cost franchises then visit our home page and use the search functions to select a price range, this way you can narrow down your choices to those that are within your budget.

Kind regards,

Hi Mathew

This is very good advice as I find many franchises are over-priced for what they actually offer and people are very much taken in on the illusion that because it's a franchise it will be successful and therefore they don't take into account the fluctuations in the current market place or indeed the fact that it is still a new business venture.

Kind regards

Hi Gina and welcome to NetFrog!

With the right research it is possible for everyone to buy into the right franchise or business opportunity for them.  So many of the scare stories out there could have been avoided by ensuring the right due diligence was followed however the onus should not always be of the person but the company too to ensure they are only bringing in the correct people for the job!

There is also the misconception that you are buying into a "cushy" job and will be handed everything on a plate, this is just not true and as much work needs to be put in as with any business, the only difference is you are supposed to be working from a tried and tested model with guidelines to follow.

I definitely agree that the franchising fees have relatively gone lower to make it more affordable to more people. Also, the improvement in IT infrastructure made it easier to communicate and coordinate different aspects of the franchising business.

In these hard economic times and when one’s morality is being compromised. There are really no shortcuts, even in franchising. Also, I agree that franchising is not recession-proof.

One must do his or her research. Do not be in a hurry. Keep in mind that you are using your savings that have been well earned through the years. Do not be fooled with glib tongue scammers. As investors, we are all accountable to our business decisions and actions.

I did the same thing and made it as a successful multi-unit franchisee. Now I have written an ebook to show others how I do it as well www.bestfranchisebooks.com. As they say “Pay It Forward”. This is my way of giving it back.  May this serve as a guide to future franchisees and an inspiration to existing ones.
