The McDonalds franchise is the longest running Uk franchise opportunity and one which, if you can afford it, can be extremely profitable.  Many of their franchisees know this and there is a high percentage of multi unit McDonalds franchise owners out there which just goes to show how well their franchisees are doing out of their franchise purchase, well enough to purchase a second franchise!

So, what is the McDonalds franchise fee?

Well, it ain't cheap by a long way and you are going to need a considerable amount of resources to make your McDonalds franchise purchase.  As a guide you are looking at the cost of an average restaurant being around £200,000 and you are looking to have about 25% of this up front with the remainder coming from a bank loan.  There is also a one time fee of £30,000 and you will need a £5,000 training deposit which will be refunded on completion of all your training. Then of course there are the ongoing fees which include:

- Monthly rent on the premises, based on sales and profitability (usually about 12%)
- Service Fee for use of the McDonald's system - 5% of sales
- Contribution to national marketing spend, currently 4.5% of sales
