Hi All,
This is a fabulous site and will become a fantastic resource. Well done to all involved.
I have been looking at Franchising for some time and have never quite, \"taken the plunge\".
The key reason has been taking a risk with the money when I have a familiy and financial commitments currently.
One question I have been exploring, and as yet do not have an answer for, is, for any potential Franchise I undertake, should I set up a private company and take the Franchise out in the name of the private company which may limit personal liability?
Anyone have any ideas on this?
Thanks
Marcus
Hi Marcus,
Usually you set up your trading name for example Marcus Kelly trading as Dolly Char Northampton.
Trading names are usually set up in this way so as if a franchise company recruits a franchisee that subsequently makes a hash of his/her own business then the franchise companies name does not get damaged as a result.
