Hi,
I'm new to all this. I am just wondering what support will I need with a franchise that I presume I wouldn't get from a franchisor, would I need to 'buy in'? ie bookkeeping / accountant etc?
What do the rest of you guys do? what do you wish you had help with when you made the leap into the self employed world? What are the hot potatoes to avoid?
Getting excited about starting now but need to cover all bases to convince my wife that this is a good idea too!
Andy

Andy,
I'd recommend you and your wife agree going into business is a good idea before you start looking and getting too excited.
Most of the franchises I have seen focus on the operational and marketing side of the business. If you don't win the business you don't to worry about bookkeeping and tax so focus your energy here. Don't take the franchisors word for it...do your own research.
We offer a bookkeeping franchise and I know there is demand for bookkeeping BUT I don't know what the level is in your area nor do I know how well you will come across in a sales and marketing role.
Good luck.
Bob
