hi i'm considering a franchise called www.businessconnectuk.co.uk,
i have spoken to two of the franchisees ( that they had call me)
and they gave rave reviews ( ut what would you expect lol)
what i'd like to hear is if any one else has had dealings with this company and if so how did they get on, also i have struggled to find out much about them,
but from the meetings i have had they seem ok and i feel i could make a go of it.
please some one give me some advice lol.

Hi Blaine
I cannot find a great deal about them either. Looking at their website domain I see it was registered on 24th Dec 2008 so it's not been up long, this could mean a number of things.
1. They are a new franchise
2. They only recently gained a website
3. They changed domain names.
Would this be the same franchise? (it is) http://www.franchisedirect.co.uk/businessconsultingfranchises/businessconnect-franchise-06454/
Looks similar but "business connect" is fairly generic, assuming it is the same one then their site must have been in operation for less time than their franchisees have been on the go as they claim.
"Current franchisees are already earning incomes in excess of £100,000 per annum."
However their domain was only registered in December 2008.
In all honesty - I do not know anything about them, it could be a good opportunity so I do not want to blast them however their domain only being regged in December sets a few alarm bells ringing so you should ask them about that. There is nothing wrong with new franchises and this is a very low cost opportunity at less than 5k, however there is always an element of risk involved when buying into a franchise that does not have a long successful history behind them. Again though, it is a low cost opportunity and perhaps their price reflects the fact that they are very new. Claims of earning over £100,000 per year for an investment of under 5k seem a little wild to me so I would ask for proof of this.
My opinion: Tread carefully and gather all the facts,
Find out how many franchisees they have.
How long they have been in operation.
Ask for a full list of franchisees + contact details.
Ask for the accounts of the business and get an accountant to look over them.
Ask how long the company operated before franchising their business. (this will let you know whether they planned their business to franchise or ran it as a successful homegrown company in it's own right)
Kind regards,
Matthew Anderson
