Franchises Advice

I often get phone calls asking me for franchise advice, this comes with the territory when running a franchise website.  However i am not a franchise expert but instead my experience lies with search engine optimisation, search marketing and information technology.

This does not mean I am without knowledge on the subject of franchising.  The kind of franchise advice I am good at offering is on the subject of a franchises viability, longevity and trust worthiness.
I am also an excellent ear for those who have lost money when buying a franchise to some of the more unscrupulous ones out there (in the minority).  And on occasion I can give some limited advice on franchising your business, although I really do not have any experience at all in these matters having never franchised one myself or helped set anyone up to franchise theirs.

All said and done though I am more than happy to receive calls and give some limited franchise advice about:

1. Buying a franchise.
2. Researching a franchise.
3. Scam franchises.
4. Franchising your business.

And if there is a topic I do not feel I have enough expertise in that you wish to discuss I do have some excellent contacts in the industry.

My number: 01340 831165

For those looking to buy a franchise I cannot stress more that you MUST do your research.  We have now seen several mentioned and warned about on this forum that people have gone ahead and bought regardless, all the warning signs were there but people have been duped by excellent con-men and the promises of huge returns in year one and they have lost many thousands of pounds to these unscrupulous "franchisors".  Usually this happens with new franchises, recently set up and with no history of success.  One of the main things to look out for is, and please do find out, "Have they ran the business themselves for a number of years".  I recently met a lady who is going to franchise her business and she has ran the core business herself for 12 years, this means that she knows her business and it has been tried and tested.  When she does franchise her business it WILL be a New Franchise but everyone has to start somewhere.  However what about the franchise that appears to have been set up in 2010 and with no previous record of achievement?  This is the one to be wary of, in most cases but not all.

So if you are looking to buy a franchise and have one in mind, and are a little wary of it and want some franchise advice, do give me a call and maybe I can save you a lot of money and stress.

Kind regards,

Matthew Anderson
