The Fathom IT Franchise - spotting a good un

I have written posts and commented about several franchise scams recently, or "undesirable franchises" and with most of them it is fairly easy to spot the ones to be dubious about.  However, for many people they do not see all the tell tale signs and many go ahead with a purchase which can ruin their lives.  What has this to do with The Fathom IT Franchise?  Well, I spotted them lurking at the top of a Google sponsored listing and was immediately impressed.

Why?

An initial scan of their site (http://www.laptopfix.co.uk/) and I found it to be informative, not too much of a hard sell and I found myself edging on the outskirts of the trust word, I could be easily fooled but certainly no alarm bells are sounding "DODGY" in my ears.

The layout was clean and professional, it has a Google page Rank of 3 with internal Page Rank of 2 (which is expected and good) and their domain name was registered in the year 2000 which shows signs of a good solid web presence.

It shows up 8 existing branches and names where they are which allows me to contact any existing branch owners to find out how well they are performing and all in all they are very open.

What they did not show me was the big flashing "Earn £100,000+ in your first year" rubbish, have a domain registered this year only or try and sell me the concept over an existing and established business.

Full thumbs up to Fathom IT as they look to be doing franchising a favour by doing it the right way.  That is to build up a successful business and look to expand their brand by franchising.

Kind regards,
