Virus Spam Just Got Clever

It's been pretty easy to identify virus spam over the years, the tell tale signs of bad grammar or fake porn pics to entice you to open.  Messages such as "With god may you be blessed, I have attached my pic, missed you baby" or "Here you have attached" or "your wifes naked" etc was never going to fool too many people other than the seriously gullible.  However all that has changed, it looks like we have someone with a good grasp of English and Social Engineering sending the spam now.  There are some variants below of what I am currently being bombarded with - Notice the tell tale signs of it being a virus or infected link.  No "Dear Name", always an attached file or in some cases link to malicious website.  Do not be fooled, if someone you do not know emails you and ask you toi visit a website or open an attachment, delete it!

Hi ,

We would like to proceed with your application with a couple of additional requests.

#1. Would it be possible to have your parents sign as guarantors on the lease?
#2. We need $20 to process the credit report.

Attached is a blank application for your guarantor to fill out. Please let me know if you are still interested and we will process this right away.

Thank you very much for your patience.

Best Regards,
Marion Thomas
